I am an experienced psychotherapist, licensed at the highest level of licensure available in Washington DC, who provides counseling services for adults who are experiencing issues, including depression, anxiety, adult ADHD, workplace difficulties, relationship problems, dysfunctional family issues, and difficult life transitions. My approach in psychotherapy is best described as supportive, non-judgmental, and gentle yet firm. I use a variety of methods such as cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and goal-oriented therapy. I work with clients to identify their goals, discover the obstacles that get in their way, and guide them through the process of overcoming these barriers and achieving their goals to attain greater happiness.
I received my MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University and my previous experience includes foster parent training and case management at Northern Virginia Family Service; crisis counseling at CrisisLink; and mental health counseling for adults with serious mental illness at Community Residences.
Along with my Masters in Social Work from VCU, I received my B.S. in Business Management from George Mason University. I have studied Intensive Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy and Central Concepts in Psychodynamic Therapy at the Washington School of Psychiatry. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers and The Greater Washington Society of Clinical Social Workers.
In addition to being an in network provider for all BCBS PPO insurances, I am also happy to work with clients with a variety of insurance coverage when coverage includes out-of-network benefits, and I will submit claims on his/her behalf.
