About John Pavco
Anxiety Therapist
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
I’ve enjoyed listening to and supporting people for as long as I can remember.
My caring nature led to my interest in becoming a therapist.
As a therapist, I get a great deal of personal satisfaction from helping people make positive changes in their lives.
Struggling with general anxiety, worries or fears about your health, or overwhelming fears or phobias can be debilitating.
When my clients reduce or overcome their anxiety, their quality of life is greatly enhanced. It’s rewarding to witness this transformation where people are no longer held back due to feeling anxious.
My work inspires me. I learn something new from each client, as everyone who struggles with anxiety has unique needs and goals.
My Strengths as a Therapist
I’m a mature and experienced therapist who is compassionate and non-judgmental. I’m trained in and use the most researched and effective psychotherapy method for treating anxiety.
I customize my approach based on your specific worries and fears. I work collaboratively – you’ll always have the ultimate say in what we work on in therapy.
I’m dedicated to helping you overcome your anxiety so you can feel more relaxed, strong and confident as you go about your life.
Psychotherapy Experience
I’ve been working in the helping professions since 2007. My diverse experience includes working with people with various issues, but my specialty is treating anxiety.
During my graduate training in therapy, I was introduced to Exposure Therapy, a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I saw the deep and profound relief people experienced from their worries and fears with this approach. The transformations I witnessed motivated me to pursue a career as an anxiety therapist.
Since 2013, I’ve had my private counseling practice in the District of Columbia, serving clients with anxiety.
You don’t have to be burdened by worry, fear, and panic. With treatment from a trained anxiety specialist, you can focus on living life instead of coping with your anxiety.
